In the 1984 Orange Bowl, Coach Howard Schnellenberger's Miami Hurricanes were beating Nebraska 17-0. Nebraska coach Tom Osborne got desperate and decided to run the Fumblerooski, a trick play where the QB deliberately places the ball on the ground for the right guard to pick up and run to the left while the other backs run right. Nebraska scored a touchdown, but Miami was able to withhold the late surge and won the game 31-30. Coach Schnellenberger regards the Fumblerooski as "illegal and immoral."
