The U 2
Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 4:28PM Billy tweeted the news the other day: we're beginning pre-production on what we're jokingly referring to as The U 2: 1992-2002.
The plan as of now is to shoot interviews in March and April, edit through the summer and fall, and have it ready for December, around the one year anniversary of the premiere of The U.
Evan Rosenfeld has begun putting together the interview list, so let us know who you most want to see in The U 2 in the comments.

Obvioiusly Butch Davis. Ed Reed should be one of the main "characters". Most important Hurricane of the past 20 years. Ray Lewis would be great too. Reggie Wayne, Santana Moss. I'd also like to hear from some of the other guys who were playmakers, but didn't make the Nfl. Guys like James Lewis, Matt Walters, and Mo Sikes. Those guys were real solid players.

I hope you can get interviews with Edward Reed, Ken Dorsey, Edge James and Kellen Winslow. All 4 were instrumental on bringing Miami back to the top from probation.
You did a great job on the first documentary- I look forward to this one coming out.
IMO there should be a segment, long or short, regarding any information about Brian Pata and Sean Taylor.

I agree with all those mentioned above, would add Dwayne Johnson. I'd like to see some players from the years that weren't very good like Kenny Kelly. Definitely want to see you bring back LeBatard. Dude was hilarious.

Brett Romberg strikes me as the type that would give you good quotes.
You should def. have something on the 2001 team. Interview anyone you can, cause the list of players is nothing but outstanding. I would like to see a tribute to Sean Taylor (My fav Hurricane) and Pata. Last but not least....the 7th floor crew!

ive been pleading for this since The U came out last december! it should cover the hardships of the late 90s.. but concentrate on the '01 season with argubly the best team ever in history of college football and the '02 season where we got majorly screwed and got robbed of what would of been back to back NC's and our 6th..
completely agree with the other posts of having the jack hole terry porter!!!! i want him to officially say he screwed us over.. miami should have 6 rings.. apart from him.. butch explaining why he left.. most of the '01 canes

Definitely focus on the collection of talent on the 2000-2002 teams being perhaps the best there ever was (look at their NFL dominance as evidence)...the sham that was the BCS in 2000...the significance of Wide Right III...Butch turning the program around. We were literally an FSU win over Oklahoma and a non-call away from having 3 AP titles in a row.
Good luck getting Terry Porter. Moss and Wayne would be good as they signed on when we were still down and out. Dorsey. Maybe Eric Winston, too. I still have nightmares of the overthrow in OT to Winston at TE as I was right there.
p.s. if you do get Porter, please ask him how he throws that flag when they were letting EVERYTHING go the entire game. Ugh. So bitter....even 7 years later....

Billy, please interview Terry Porter if he's not still reviewing in his mind what happened because the tapes show there was no contact and no interference.
Also remember that the "U" is the students, alumni, staff and faculty not the just the administrations. Please be fair to those people.
I'd love to hear from Randy Shannon & Andreu Swasey. I know the school wouldn't allow it but I'd like to hear their thoughts seeing how they've been a poart of The U for a long time.
I'd also love to hear from opposing coaches like Paterno, Bowden, etc.

1) U 2 Son of a Beach
2) II : U Son of a Beach
3) 2: Son of U
4) U #2
5) The U 2 Day
6) U: 2 Probation and Beyond
ps....I'd really to here in depth from Butch, and Jimmy J. again of course, but especially from Ed Reed, I hated that Shockey was left off #1. Also add Ryan Clement QB during the probation years...and Edgerrin James. His game against UCLA in 98 I believe turned the program around, like to see Roy Firestone who is an alumnus and very articulate about the Canes. Mario Cristobal again, Pete Garcia, Reggie Wayne, Ken Dorsey, Frank Gore, Willis Magahee, Dan Morgan, Santan Moss, and Lots of Ray Lewis. With these guys, maaaaaannn U would have my attention 2.
There's gotta be a segment about Sean Taylor.
Also something about the players' ACADEMICS to show that these players have been good students too.
Also a segment about the players coming back to work out (NFL players from Miami, and other schools like Javon Walker, and other sports like A-Rod, and The Rock).
Also hearing from NFL scouts and coaches of teams who drafted players during the time period being filmed.
Asking them to explain why they decided to draft Miami players (what attracted them to players from the program).
yeah i like the last two suggestions...nfl scouts galore...also among other players who have worked out at the u: tennis player andy murray.
so whatever it is, people keep coming.

and i REALLY think you GOTTA show highlights that were left out from the first one...like barrow's big hit, and 3RD AND 43 vs ND!
