New Zealand Herald reports on Cocaine Cowboys 2 censorship

via the New Zealand Herald:

Censors ordered a sequence showing how to make crack cocaine to be cut from a documentary about drug smugglers.

The release of Cocaine Cowboys 2: Hustlin with the Godmother into rental and retail stores has been pushed back three weeks by the Office of Film and Literature Classification's ruling.

Madman Entertainment NZ, the company releasing the American film, is editing out the segment.

"When I first watched the film I thought it might be a bit explicit. So we weren't surprised," said general manager Wilf Robinson.

The documentary is a sequel to Cocaine Cowboys, which tracked the explosion of the cocaine trade in Miami, Florida.
