rakontur 2009

What's cookin at rakontur in 09:

--Clubland is live and will run through mid-February.  We're talking about doing a Season 2 and I think we'll make Season 1 available as a torrent file so you can download the whole series at once.

-- We are working on a totally revised version of Cocaine Cowboys (new stories, archival footage, news clips, photos and music), which we're calling Cocaine Cowboys: The Remix.  Look for it to hit stores during the summer.  The dvd will also come with the release of our photo book Cocaine Cowboys: An Explicit History of Miami's Drug Rush, that MTV Books will be publishing this summer as well.  MTV Books will also be publishing a graphic novel based on Cocaine Cowboys 2.  And yes, we are beginning work on the next Cocaine Cowboys documentary.

--Two tv series are in the works.  Billy and I are executive producing the HBO Cocaine Cowboys series with Michael Bay and Jerry BruckheimerMeredith Stiehm has been hired to write the series.  We're also developing a half-hour animated comedy series for Adult Swim called Square Grouper, about two dope smuggling brothers.  Pharrell Williams, who's a big Cocaine Cowboys fan, is producing Square Grouper with us.

--We've begun editing The U, our feature documentary about the history of the University of Miami football program for ESPN.  We'll be shooting a few more interviews in February and then cutting the rest of the spring and summer.  Look for The U to premiere on ESPN in the fall.

--There are a few other projects that we're developing -- none that I can discuss yet -- but stay tuned as we add a few new ones to our 2009/10 slate
