Here is an UPDATE to my MPA: Miami Parking Assholes post from last week:

Just spoke with Ailene at Miami Parking Authority, who recognized me by name (I guess she reads our blog). She informed me that I am “not entitled to a refund,” because, get this, I “parked and didn’t get a citation, which would have been more than a dollar.” Yeah, don’t think too hard about it, it doesn’t make any sense to me either. I told her that I moved my car when the meter malfunctioned (to her credit, she confirmed that the machine was out of order), I did not park for “free,” so I should not have received this hypothetical parking citation she was referring to. Oh, and where’s my dollar?

The Miami Parking Authority has one helluva scam going…

On February 24, 2008, I put a buck into a master meter off of Brickell Avenue in Downtown (that was my first mistake: going to Gordon Biersch, where the bar smells like the custodian’s closet at a public middle school), and, after sucking up the bill, a message appeared on the display screen: “Machine Out of Service.” I don’t know why it didn’t just say: “Thanks for the buck – GET FUCKED,” because it didn’t return my dollar.

Okay, I’ve got to chime in on this…

Lincoln Diaz-Balart must literally be WALLPAPERING television with these campaign ads because I have been hearing about the Raul Martinez/Cocaine Cowboys TV spot non-stop from people all over South Florida.

I have been asked, dozens of times now, questions like: Is Martinez really in Cocaine Cowboys? Did rakontur give the campaign permission to use a clip from our movie? Are you endorsing Diaz-Balart?
